PLANS: I thought it would be fun to bring Suzuha here since she'll be right at home with this setting. Time travel and a Big Bad trying to take over through the elimination of free will? It's like she never left canon :') And over all the setting just seems really cool to me and a friend had a lot of good things to say about the game as a whole so I'm excited to join in the fun!
ITEM: Her father's Lab Member pin.
CHARACTER @ID SUGGESTIONS: I went with @twintails on the TDM. @titor was going to be my original choice but it felt a bit like too blatant a spoiler, haha
HOW DID YOUR CHARACTER JOIN COST? She joined willingly and remembers doing so, probably at an agent's request. All they really had to do was convince her of the Regency's threat in comparison to SERN and she would be all about that. She spent her life trying to prevent one dire future, and it would all be for nothing if she couldn't help stop this one too.

HISTORY: Wiki here, though it is a bit more focused on the game than the anime.
Annnd since her canon is timey-wimey with multiple worldlines that have slight variations, I'll summarize what has occurred for this version of her, for simplicity's sake:
-Grows up in the dystopic future where the organization SERN has a stranglehold on the world's technology, and thus, the population
-Is a soldier of the anti-SERN resistance group, likely following in the footsteps of her parents
-In 2036, she makes the decision to use the time machine her late father created to travel to 1975 in order to obtain an IBN 5100 (which is capable of reading a proprietary code that will give them an edge against SERN before they come into power) and see that it makes its way to Rintarou Okabe, who spearheads the resistance in the future.
-...But she winds up making a pit-stop in 2010 first, in order to seek out her father. Having never met him, the only clues she has to go on are a pin he used to wear and the knowledge that he would be in Akihabara at this time.
-Makes a miscalculation in coordinates when arriving in 2010, causing her time machine to appear part way through the roof of the Radio Kaikan building in Akihabara.
-Gets hired on as a part-time employee at the CRT Workshop below Okabe's Future Gadget Laboratory in order to get close and keep an eye on him and his progress
-Posts on @channel as "John Titor," warning of the dystopic future to come and aiding Okabe with his questions as he begins his own time travel experiments.
-Befriends the members of the lab (though quarrels with Kurisu Makise, who in her time is widely known as the "Mother of Time Travel" and member of SERN) and eventually is christened Lab Member 008
-Reveals to Okabe that her last chance to find her father is at a meet up she knows he should be attending, and if she can't find him there, she'd have to be on her way. When Okabe's good-natured meddling unintentionally leads to her father being absent from the meeting, she fully intends to go straight to the time machine and back to her mission
-Okabe interferes, however, sending a text-message to his past self, instructing himself to tail Suzuha and prevent her from leaving so that the lab members can help her continue her search for her father. She concedes, and they go back to the lab where they have a consolation party for her
-Unfortunately, that night a thunderstorm rages and damages the time machine that is still parked mid-way inside the Radio building
-When the Future Gadget Lab's time travel projects make more progress, SERN makes its move to take them into custody, setting into motion the death of lab member and friend, Mayuri Shiina. Okabe, using their newly-built machine, repeatedly sends his consciousness to the past in futile attempts to prevent her death. Eventually he confides in Kurisu about what he has been doing, and the two attempt to puzzle out a way to save her.
-Overhearing Okabe and Kurisu, Suzuha finally reveals herself as a time traveler and John Titor, telling them of SERN's tyranny in the future. She determines that getting the IBN 5100 will help them thwart SERN, and hopefully save Mayuri in the process, and is once again set on returning to her mission.
-Lab member Itaru "Daru" Hashida sets to work on repairing her time machine, and the others aid Suzuha in her search for her father with the limited time they have left
-Just after the time machine is fixed, enabling her to leave, Mayuri puzzles out that Daru is actually Suzuha's father. The two have a brief "reunion" of sorts before she goes on her way
PERSONALITY:
"What's up, party people? You guys bringing the ruckus or what?"
When it comes to Suzuha, there are two dominant aspects to her personality: the carefree girl and the soldier.
The carefree side is the one that most will find themselves face-to-face with, full of boundless energy and bursting with bright smiles and friendliness. Loud, brash, and excitable, Suzuha tends to make quite a first impression with those around her, heedless of how foolish it may tend to make her look. She's out to have a good time, and she's going to let everyone around her know it. She'll make jokes, give gifts, and lend an ear to anyone who might need it. This behavior was somewhat rarer for her back in her dystopic home, but give her a more relaxed setting and she'll go wild, as seen throughout the series.
Though that warm personality doesn't make her anything near a pushover. What she hates more than almost anything is people underestimating her or not taking her seriously, and doing so is one surefire way of getting an argument out of her. Suzuha is incredibly prideful in her skills, having honed them through a life of hardship, and anyone who can't appreciate that will find themselves facing her ire. She isn't the sort to stand about and take shit from anyone, and she knows how to dish back the rudeness when it's slung at her. Doing something such as commenting on her eccentricity and you'll find yourself with a flippant, "I should care what you think?" in reply.
Despite her brash and eccentric ways, deep down she does have a strong desire to fit in with those around her. She wholeheartedly embraces the chance to enjoy a normal, quiet existence when she visits 2010, one where she doesn't have to sleep with one eye open in search of the enemy. And never having had the chance to live such a life before causes her to come off a bit... strange, at times. Common, every day occurrences or readily available things like foods she's never had a chance to enjoy will invoke a sense of wonder in her that might seem a bit extreme to normal folk. And coming from a dystopic future leaves her lacking in the knowledge of modern slang, though it does nothing to stop her from trying to use it. Try being the key word there. Case in point: the above quote about 'bringing the ruckus', as well as other gems such as, "That's real crunk and all..."
But for all her boundless smiles and energy, the girl is, at her core, sad and lonely too. It's what leads her to make that detour in 2010, after all; just a quick pit-stop in the hopes of simply getting a glimpse of dear ol' dad, of maybe getting a taste of that familial warmth she never had much of a chance to enjoy in the terrible future. And part of the reason she latches so quickly onto the members of the Future Gadget Lab is that there was never much time for friendship when all her days were spent running from SERN. She cherishes those few weeks she spent with them, savoring that heart warming feeling of friendship. Before she returns to her mission, Okabe asks her if she might regret making the pitstop in 2010, to which she responds that it was worth every moment. She isn't the sort to treat the bonds she forges with others lightly. Those who find a friend in Suzuha will have someone who sticks with them through thick and thin.
And then we have the soldier.
This serious side to her tends to be donned quickly and without hesitation—a necessity bred from a life spent in SERN's crosshairs. In an instant that laughing, bubbly personality of hers can be swapped for quiet, hard looks and defensive postures. No more joking, no more games. It's as if she's been transported back to the future and once again facing the constant threat of SERN's hit squads. And it's incredibly easy to for her to fall back into that soldier's persona.
She's liable to see danger often where it is not. The whurr of a passing helicopter mistaken for an air-raid, an off-hand joke about brainwashing immediately taken to be serious—it's hard-wired into Suzuha to see threats around every corner. Because not doing so could be fatal, strange behavior be damned. If she's proven wrong in assessing a threat, she'll simply laugh and play it off as a joke, as if she'd just been quoting some tv show or another. Though if she does find you a threat she will spare absolutely none of her typical warmth, as evidenced by how she behaves around Kurisu, who to her is only seen as a future SERN lackey. Cold stares, biting commentary, and harsh accusations will be thrown about without hesitation. And should the threat go from 'potential' to 'guaranteed,' well... She's plenty capable of slinging more than just words.
But this side of her springs into action in more than just dangerous situations. She knows when to take things seriously, dropping her casual manner of addressing things and speaking almost eloquently. This can be seen when discussing the state of the future with Okabe and Kurisu, or any time she takes on the role of John Titor, all carefully measured words and a tone that leaves no room for joking. And this side of hers does well at displaying just how sharp she is. She is quick to assess situations, puzzling out strategies and searching for solutions in no time flat.
And despite all the friendships she makes, all the childish desires she may hide away, there is nothing more important to Suzuha than seeing her mission completed. Her greatest desire is to the see the world safely delivered from dystopia, and she will do anything in her power to make that happen. And without that... she'll have to depend on those closest to her to find the strength to keep going.
POWERS:
Suzuha is a normal human, so no powers for her. Abilities, however, are as such:
+ Suzuha's an ace when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. She's light and quick on her feet, and she knows how to use that to her advantage; she once took out a room full of armed dudes in under a minute.
+ She's no slouch when it comes to the use of various weapons either, with plenty of experience using whatever she can get her hands on to fight off enemy forces. Personal firearms, grenades, knives, you name it.
+ Stealth and recon work is within her capabilities as well. She wouldn't have lasted long fighting against SERN if she couldn't keep a low profile when needed.
+ She's got some scattered technological know-how as well; she's shown to know a bit about computers, but something as complex as fixing her time machine is well beyond her scope.
